Sparkling Strawberry Lemon-Ade Turmeric Refresher with Chia

This week I am going to cut out caffeine.

This thought pops into my head about once a month. I don't do this to make a forever change. At this moment of my life that is not realistic for me, but I do want to give my body the opportunity to support my positive inflammation response and recharge on its own accord. No morning coffee, no afternoon matcha, no caffeine. So how do I still feel energized and awake throughout the day? Here are some of the tactics I try to incorporate always and especially when there is no caffeine involved.
  1. Go to sleep at night without looking at my phone (after I turn on some soothing ocean sounds, of course).

  2. Wake up and have a green smoothie for some serious whole food energy.

  3. About the time I would usually have cup of coffee, I swap out another beverage to sip on, like warm lemon water,  a bottle of Temple Turmeric, or an herbal tea.

  4. Take a 5 minute walk around the block to get that blood pumping.

  5. When my afternoon energy dips, I like something bright and refreshing. Lately, I've been mixing up this Sparkling Strawberry Lemon-Ade Turmeric Refresher with Chia (recipe below) for a protein-packed pick-me-up.

Sparkling Strawberry Lemon-Ade Turmeric Refresher with Chia

Serves: 2 Prep time: 0 minutes Total time: 2 minutes




How To

  1. Pour 1/2 bottle of Temple Turmeric Strawberry Lemon-Ade Super Light into each glass.

  2. Add 1 tablespoon chia to each glass and stir.

  3. Let sit in the refrigerator about 5 minutes until chia plumps up.

  4. Stir well then top the glasses with sparkling water.

  5. As you drink, stir or swirl your glass to keep the chia mixed in (to drink them evenly) and moving (for fun times).
